Altonaer Str. 1
10557 Berlin-Tiergarten
Bar open before and after for drinks in the garden!

During the evening Achim Lengerer and Dani Gal will play the composition "What you doin' tapin'", an oral documentation of a visit they made to the London studio of British artist William Furlong. "What you doin' tapin'" is a reference to Furlong's Audio Arts archive of interviews with artists and to Furlong's other sound pieces. Lengerer and Gal have been collaborating since 2006 on their project "voiceoverhead". "voiceoverhead" deals with performative aspects of speech, sound documents and archived spoken language. In the past years they have realized exhibitions and performances in close collaboration with other visual artists, musicians and filmmakers in various venues such as INSA ART SPACE, Seoul; SMART Project Space, Amsterdam; PORTIKUS, Frankfurt am Main; DEUTSCHE GUGGENHEIM, Berlin and recently at FORUM EXPANDED, BERLINALE together with Deutschlandradio Kultur, Berlin. In addition to their listening session Gal and Lengerer will present further interviews and tapes from the Audio Arts Archive and will launch their new poster and CD edition.

PERFORMANCES IN HANSAVIERTEL
PERFORMANCES IN HANSAVIERTEL is a series of performances based on sound and spoken word, irregularly organized by THE OFFICE. The events take place at TIERGARTEN EINS in Berlin's neighborhood of Hansaviertel. THE OFFICE invites artists and other cultural producers to develop a site specific project for the particular acoustics at the ground floor of Eternithaus. The building was constructed by the architect Paul Baumgarten in 1957 for IBA, the International Construction Fair. The city of Berlin has invited numerous, highly prestigious architects such as Walter Gropius, Oscar Niemeyer, Bruno Taut, and others, built a new urban plan according to how they imagined the modern city of the future.

THE OFFICE
Based in Berlin, THE OFFICE temporarily occupies spaces throughout the city. The goal is to re-discover Berlin, to channel and transmit information, and provide space for discursive thinking around the arts. THE OFFICE is a collaboration between Ellen Blumenstein, Katharina Fichtner, Fiona Geuss, Maribel Lopez and Kathrin Meyer. Founded in May 2009, THE OFFICE explores different models of cooperation between curators, writers and artists independent from the institutional context.

TIERGARTEN EINS is a space for chance encounters. At once hidden and open, it is both retreat and stage, hosting diverse events ranging from garden parties to business meetings, from eclectic dinners to soccer screenings. In Fall 2009, TIERGARTEN EINS initiated FOYER, a series of art-related happenings to create memorable experiences in an intimate setting.
